Foundation Course £120.00 for 1person £160.00 for two people

We spend a little time in the studio making friends with your camera, Understanding what the various settings are for and what they do. There are three different methods of controlling the way your camera handles the light and at the end of this short tutorial you'll know what they are and how to use them.
Then it's out on location to put into practice what we've been learning. I'll put you into situations with advice on what to do and add some words on composition then leave you to try it. You'll go onto putting your own spin on the image as your confidence grows you'll begin to 'see' the picture before you take it.
A short plenary session back at the studio to consolidate your new knowledge and it's job done. Your foot on the ladder of being a better photographer more confident and ready to go to the next level.

for two people

Composition £110.00 for 1person £130.00 for two people

Now that you understand the technical side of your camera a little better and how to control the light reaching the sensor you need to begin looking at the compositional elements of your picture taking. The two go hand in hand - at first you worry about getting the correct esposure and depth of field etc, that will fade into the background as you strive to make your pictures look well balanced and easy on the eye. Learn to isolate your subject and choose the correct lens and viewpoint. Consider aspect ratio, leading lines and the use of positive and negative space. Consider using diagonals
in your images to invoke a sense of action and applying the rules of thirds. don't forget to consider the backgrounds. And then there's knowing when to break the rules

LEVEL THREE The Day of the Tripod £95.00 £120 for two people

And it's not just for working in the dark! There are lots of reason to use your tripod when it comes to getting the best possible quality into your pictures. High iso values makes for really noisy images, the example to your left has no noise even when the cameras meter was asking for iso16000. The magic of the tripod. There are effects you can create - - it's not just traffic trails, there's multiple exposures, bluring the action and painting with light. So lots of reasons to have one and when the shoot is in the bag and you are winding down then you can hang you coat on it . . . .
